friends' uncle has lost everything gambling

my good friend Zane has a degenerate uncle who loves to gamble.....unfortunately he is a terrible bettor. He has lost over 880k in the last 1 1/2 yrs and he just keeps betting.....He owned a company that he sold for 22 million several years ago...He netted a good part of that even after paying uncle sam but the way he is going he may be at zero soon....He went to Vegas last year and was playing slot machines for $500 tokens...My friend told me he hit a royal flush with a $500 token!! He collected $500,000 on this payoff but was down over $300k before he hit it!!!! He then lost the $300k at blackjack....Was comped a $6000 dinner and hotel bill and went sightseeing at Hoover Dam....The $ means absolutely nothing to him....he gave my friend ,his nephew, $200k for his birthday last month!!! Go figure....and I am sweating the game for $200 bucks....

I read a book that said counting cards only gives you like a 52% edge. I hit 65-70% on football games and you can't count cards good when you are drunk. I love betting games I put in my picks then get fucked up all day while making money.
